Reboot loop problem with old firmware

Affected models & firmware:

  • HDHomeRun PRIME running 20130117 or older firmware.
  • HDHomeRun DUAL running 20141124 or older firmware.

Solution:

  1. Download the latest software:
  2. Unplug the WAN port on your home router so internet goes down (but your home network is still working). The HDHomeRun should now stay up correctly.
  3. Run the installer so it upgrades the firmware in the HDHomeRun.
  4. Attach the WAN port again so internet comes back.
