Apple TV

The official HDHomeRun app is not currently available for the Apple TV. There are a number of third party options that can be used instead.

Please note, this page is for the convenience of our customers. As these are programs maintained by third parties, Silicondust cannot guarantee their operation or performance.

VLC:

  • Free. View live channels as a UPnP/DLNA source. No guide data, no live pausing, no DVR.

Channels:

  • Paid. View live channels with detailed guide data and an easy-to-use interface. Channels also offers their own DVR service for a subscription fee (not compatible with SCRIBE or SERVIO).

MrMC:

  • Paid. View live channels with detailed guide data and an easy-to-use interface. Requires an initial setup, but is easy to use after that. Trial version available. No DVR, no live TV pausing.

Plex:

  • Paid (requires PlexPass for TV features). View live channels with detailed guide data and an easy-to-use interface. Requires an initial setup, but is easy to use after that. Requires PlexPass for viewing live TV, which will also include support for their own DVR service, either as a one-time fee or reoccurring subscription. Requires setting up a Plex server on a computer, NAS, or Nvidia Shield TV (non-“tube” version).

Emby:

  • Paid (requires Emby Premiere for TV features). View live channels with detailed guide data and an easy-to-use interface. Requires an initial setup, but is easy to use after that. Requires Emby Premiere for viewing live TV, which will also include support for their own DVR service, either as a one-time fee or reoccurring subscription. Requires setting up an Emby server on a computer, NAS, or Nvidia Shield TV (non-“tube” version).

OPlayer:

  • Paid. View live channels as a UPnP/DLNA source. No guide data, no live pausing, no DVR.
